Monarch caterpillars are chewing on milkweed in the classrooms! They eat a lot and grow very fast. After a while, they crawl to the top of the container and turn into a beautiful jade colored chrysalis with gold trim. We already have some that have made their chrysalis! See below!

We'll count down for 7 to 10 days when the chrysalis will break open to reveal a beautiful butterfly. The children learn that the butterflies need to be released to find food and fly to Mexico for the winter. We have a GREAT garden for releasing butterflies.
